In 2019, Barcelona saxophonist Dani Nel•lo and London guitarist Chris Corcoran coincided accompanying Mike Sanchez, one of the most notable figures of European Rhythm & Blues. The musical connection was immediate; Corcoran, the voice of Afro-American roots music, captures the energy of mid-20th century guitarists and brings them to the present day. Nel•lo, for his part, plays with the same stylistic parameters with his saxophone and follows the tradition of the most visceral saxophonists of R&B, R&R and Soul.
The vision of these styles from Europe has brought new ways of doing, new ways of interpreting. The encounter between the two instrumentalists and their shared imagination seeks a new space of intersection in instrumental music.
Nel•lo and Corcoran will perform live accompanied by Anton Jarl (Los Mambo Jambo, Rambalaya) on drums and Víctor Puertas (Koko-Jean & The Tonics) on keyboards.
