After four long years, the voice of Jazz in the Basque Country, Irati Bilbao, now presents Bloom, her keenly awaited second album, and the expectations are even greater than for her magnificent first record, which made her one of the most important and promising figures on the modern Jazz scene in recent times.
Bloom confirms the maturity of this artist, who is evolving remarkably in the domain of classical Jazz, so majestically that she already is a master of improvisation, and of scat; not to mention her skill for incorporating other elements and influences. More modern and contemporary songs, composed by Bilbao herself, also shine through, exquisitely polished with classic standards.
Acclaimed by critics, the specialised press and the general public alike, she has performed at the best Jazz Festivals and Jazz Clubs in the country. Her repertoire reaches across a broad musical spectrum, with more modern and contemporary influences, original compositions and standards arranged with exquisite care and sensibility. All of that put together for a concert conceived to link the present with the past.
