The 7th edition of the BLUES HOTSAK festival is underway
This November, the Blues Hotsak Festival will be held for the seventh consecutive year in the Gipuzkoa town of Soraluze (Basque Country), featuring a program dedicated to blues and other Black and/or roots music.
Among the performers are Finnish artist INA FORSMAN with her regular band, ANARI and MISSISSIPPI QUEEN from the Basque Country, and also CARMEN PARIS from Zaragoza accompanied by her acoustic piano, the group of Valencian singer MARIA CARBONELL, and the sharp guitar of SUSAN SANTOS from Extremadura.
Soraluze, a post-industrial town nestled in the heart of Gipuzkoa (Basque Country), is the birthplace of diverse musical projects. In the 1980s, concerts of punk, rock, jazz, blues, and other genres began to be organized. Circuits and series have also been held in different towns throughout the valley, primarily featuring Black music (Debajazz Festival, Ibetondo Jazz Festival, Blues Circuit, etc.). A record label in Soraluze specializing in this music has already celebrated its 30th anniversary. All of this contributed to the emergence of the BLUES HOTSAK festival. This November, we celebrate its seventh edition. The festival combines film, literature, and plenty of music, as well as other activities throughout the rest of the year.
This year, in addition to a mountain hike to the Dolmens and tree planting, there will also be a harmonica course and a jam session at the Gaztetxe (youth center). The main events take place on the weekend. An invitation to enjoy!
