ANAUT and his green dog
After captivating audiences with three English-language albums and a success exceeding 1.5 million streams, Anaut embarks on a new chapter with Perro verde, their first album in Spanish. The Madrid-based band adopts a more pop/rock sound with an Afro-American essence.
Alberto Anaut, from Madrid, possesses outstanding talent as a singer, guitarist, and soul songwriter. Anaut has rhythm, music, soul, and a live show not to be missed. He first gained recognition with an exceptional debut album, featuring original songs and a splendid tribute to the great Ray Charles, blending soul, rhythm and blues, and a skillful combination of acoustic and electric elements.
The ANAUT project began in 2013 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, during Alberto Anaut’s studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. That year, he released his first album, “140,” through crowdfunding. The title refers to the number of people who made it possible. They launched the album at Sala Caracol in Madrid, selling out the venue, and toured the Iberian Peninsula for the next two years. They subsequently released a seven-inch single featuring their most popular track, “When Your Days Grow Long,” which has garnered over 1.6 million streams on Spotify. The B-side included a cover of “Black Is Black,” a song popularized in Spain by Los Bravos. Their second LP, “Time Goes On” (2016), received the following awards:
– Pop Eye Award for Best Black Music Artist – MIN Award for Best World Music Album – Franklin Award from Enlace Funk magazine for Best Male Singer (Alberto Anaut).
They participated in the Girando por Salas program, embarking on an extensive tour that lasted the next two years. This LP featured collaborations with artists such as harmonica player Antonio Serrano and New Orleans-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Jon Cleary.
Their third LP, titled “Hello There,” was released in 2018. It was launched at the Teatro Barceló in Madrid, and the tour throughout Spain continued for the next three years. The band was selected for the Artistas en Ruta AIE program.
ANAUT’s music is soul with touches of funk, built upon a foundation of classic rhythm & blues and Americana, to which they add their own unique vocals. All the influences of Black music are filtered through the lens of musicians who met at conservatories in Pamplona and Amsterdam.

At the end of 2025, their fourth LP, “PERRO VERDE,” was released, marking the beginning of the band’s Spanish-language era, leaning more towards rock and pop while still maintaining their signature sound.
Without abandoning their American musical roots, ANAUT ventured into pop-rock territory, with a sound reminiscent of Sting, John Mayer, Beck, and other British and American singer-songwriters.
