Dr. Feelgood is one of the most internationally recognized and highly regarded rhythm and blues bands. Formed in the early 1970s on Canvey Island, Essex, in the United Kingdom—spearheaded by singer-songwriter Lee Brilleaux and guitarist Wilko Johnson—the group developed a raw, direct style of R&B that, at the time, served as an alternative to the prevailing sounds of psychedelia and hard rock.
The current lineup features Kevin Morris on drums and Phil Mitchell on bass—both of whom have been with the group for 44 years—alongside the return of guitarist Gordon Russell, who was a member of the band during the 1980s, and singer and harmonica player Robert Kane, who has spent 27 years with Dr. Feelgood following his time with The Animals.
