Born in Philadelphia of Cuban descent, saxophonist, flutist and composer Bobby Martinez began his professional career at the age of 11, before attending Miami Dade Community College, where he played in bands such as Paragon, Secret Society and Willy Chirino, and joined singer Gloria Estefan’s collective, Miami Sound Machine. After this initial phase in Miami, he moved to New York to continue his training with clarinetist Eddie Daniels and finally settled in Madrid in 1996. With an extensive career that has taken him all over the world, he has worked with artists such as Pat Metheny, Jorge Pardo, Paco de Lucía, Julio Iglesias, Joe Williams and Paquito D’Rivera. In addition to his tireless and renowned work in the field of education, Bobby Martinez boasts a vast discographic experience, whether collaborating with various artists or under his own name. Records like Salsa Jazz, Latin Elation Vol. 1, Better Days and Te lo dije stand out in his repertoire.
