The Fake Cousins

This is the name of the project created by Paul San Martín (Piano and Vocals), Jon Aira (Guitar) and Javier ‘Shaf’ San Martín (Drums), three experienced musicians who come from different backgrounds, but with a common goal: to recreate the sound of Juke Joints (small establishments common among colored people in the South of the United States, where they danced, sang, gambled and served food).

Their repertoire ranges from more piano-based styles such as Boogie Woogie, Ragtime or Stride to genres more typical of guitarists such as Chicago Blues or Stax Funk. Among their influences we could highlight: Professor Longhair, Dr John, Ray Charles, Albert King, Hound Dog Taylor, Eddie Taylor, etc.
