The Bo Derek’s

December 14|7:00 pm-10:00 pm

The Bo Derek’s play an “old school” rock and roll style that inevitably drives the audience wild and gets them dancing nonstop. The band is the result of bringing together Oscar Avendaño (Siniestro Total, Los Profesionales, Óscar Avendaño & Reposado), on vocals and guitar, and the Lorre brothers—Jorge Lorre and Rufus el Guarro—(Los Wavy Gravies, The Allnight Workers, Los Hijos Bastardos de Peter Lorre, Family Folks…), on bass and drums. Together they unleash their most pub-rock side: rock ‘n’ roll in Spanish and with their own songs for fun and dancing, with influences ranging from Dr. Feelgood and The Bishops, to Bo Didley and Devil Dogs.

Although the name of this adrenaline-fueled Galician trio reminds us of the actress once considered the “10 woman,” we have no doubt, based on what we’ve heard and seen, that their heart is actually occupied by another Bo, in this case named Diddley. And it is that rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and other related genres are the spark necessary for Jorge and Rufus, of the Wavy Gravies, along with the ubiquitous Oscar Avendaño, to ignite the flame that becomes their sound. A raw and wild roar that intertwines with famous “pyromaniacs” like Chuck Berry, Dr. Feelgood, and Mermelada, which is undoubtedly synonymous with fun and debauchery dressed in the old and invincible school.

In their concerts, the band doesn’t hesitate to invoke those ancient but infallible masters of electricity, declaring war on boredom and calm.
