DIABLUES & BLUEZIFER Band
Fresh from the successful conclusion of the BLUES HOTSAK festival, other experienced and well-known blues musicians from Bergara visit us for a vermouth concert:
Mikel Etxeberria: Harmonica, Guitar, and Vocals
Asier Elorza: Vocals, Guitar, Dobro, Mouth Sound, and Trumpet
Nagore Sanz: Double Bass and Bass Guitar
Aitor Aranburu: Percussion
A shared passion for acoustic blues brought these two musicians from Bergara together in 2014. This project takes us to the deep roots of the blues, giving a personal touch to the old melodies of the Mississippi Delta.
At their concerts, you can feel the atmosphere that once filled the southern United States.
In addition to using typical acoustic blues instrumentation, they embellish their unusual sound with special melodies and instruments: vocal harmonies, dobro, trumpet…
In 2016, they released the album “Discovers” and, after participating in important festivals (Hondarribia Blues, San Sebastián Jazz Festival, Tolosa and Arrasate Blues Festivals…), they released their second album, “Gure urdina,” in 2021. Two cultures have been fused in this project: traditional Basque songs and African American blues.
Explaining the roots and evolution of the blues, they also perform educational concerts, such as those they gave at the Guggenheim Museum as part of the Bilbao Blues Festival.
In the last year, they have been performing as quartets, showcasing a fuller and richer sound.
The BIDEAK project (by creators) aims to unite contemporary cultural expressions with the participation of the local community, offering engaging experiences through improvisation.
Its main objective is to promote innovation, research, and mediation in the cultural sphere through contemporary expressions.
The sessions will combine different disciplines, sharing them with local stakeholders. The musical group or singers will join the core of the event, along with guests from other disciplines.
Different themes will be combined toward a single objective using improvisation and collaborative work. Each session will last 75 to 90 minutes and will be held at different locations throughout the town.
This project seeks to foster innovation and research in the cultural field through contemporary expressions and mediation. One of its goals is to develop new hybrid projects from the collaborative work that will take place, allowing participants to get to know each other, work together, and create synergies. It aims to push beyond comfort zones and create unique content through experimentation.
