The Northagirres is a Rock&Roll band that draws from American and Australian sources… Rock, Country, Blues, Rhythm&Blues, all of it greased with two very different guitars, Hammond, piano, and a solid and varied rhythm section bass/drums. Riffs, melodies, rhythm, attitude… well, pure Rock&Roll.

Basque group from Urretxu, formed by Iñigo Agirrebalzategi (vocals, guitar), Aitor Godoy (guitar), Ana Agirrebalzategi (piano, Hammond, backing vocals), Julen Makazaga (drums, backing vocals) and Borja Aranburu (bass, backing vocals). Its members have been part of other bands such as The Hot Dogs!, Mutürbeltz, Sorkun, Dirty Jackets, Supertrooper, Painful…
Their music is a mix of rock, country, r&b…wild songs with an elegant and robust sound that avoids artifice to focus on urgency, melody, grit and emotion, brilliant songs with abundant vocal strength and compositional talent that trap you with the enormous creative force of their guitars, devilish keyboards and powerful rhythms, tremendous compositions that rescue the authentic spirit of rock to give us accurate hits of vigorous rock and roll, greasy r&b and exciting country rock, genuine tunes that rely on instrumental power and intelligent lyrics to invite us on a vibrant musical journey, a well-rounded collection of cuts that masterfully combine unbridled electricity and captivating mid-tempos to serve us an irresistible sonic cocktail with plenty of energy and class.

Among their influences are bands like The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons, Mott The Hoople, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Lou Reed, T.Rex, Burning… They have released four albums full of rock’n’roll whose lyrics speak of desires, plans, madness, pacts, ignorance, love…
But Northagirres is, above all, a live band, a hard and silky live performance, which leaves a more than good taste in the mouth and a good puddle of sweat wherever they go. I am sure that Iparragirre would be proud of his rock disciples.
