Tino Gonzales & Los Reyes del KO

February 19, 2010

Tino Gonzales was born on the southside of Chicago. He grew up surrounded by music from dawn to dusk.  The Chicago influence is apparent. He has been compared with Stevie Ray Vaughan, but his true style is more like that of Carlos Santana, Peter Green or BB King. His deep vocals give hot homage to the Crescent City.  Tino is an American steamroller who performs blues, R&B, jazz and soul – all clear on this CD. He now lives in Europe where his most recent work has been published.

Many musicians have collaborated with him such as Paulie Cerra on sax who has just finished the latest album of Larry Carlton or Hutch Martin on steel guitar who once played with Robert Palmer.

Tino met Los Reyes del KO  in Berlin. The group members live in Germany and have had several records Publisher, making them an unavoidable part of the new Spanish and European blues. Their music transmits the most primitive blues and the most modern Chicago blues with colours of funk, soul and even hip hop or Latin. No one can sit still before their rhythm, energy and humour, causing many to change their minds about what the blues are all about. They have shared the stage with artists such as Mick Taylor, Charlie Musselwhite, Sugar Blue, Chuck Berry, Solomon Burke, Buddy Guy, John Mayall and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
