Raúl Sainz, born in Bilbao, pursued advanced studies in classical guitar at “Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga” Conservatory of Music in Bilbao. He supplemented his education in the realm of jazz by studying with guitarists such as Joe Pass, Carlos Gonçalvez, and Kurt Rosenwinkle. Apart from a successful career in teaching at institutions like Higher Conservatory “Musikene” in San Sebastián and “Andrés Isasi” Music School in Getxo, his professional career has led him to collaborate with numerous artists and be part many projects including Infussion, Organizing, Didi Jazz, and Malú Quartet, among others.
Raúl Sainz de Rozas belongs to that group of musicians who possess an inexhaustible creative capacity and the quality of unpredictability, walking the line between orthodoxy and eclecticism. A multifaceted creator who has managed to draw from multiple influences and sensibilities throughout his extensive career, culminating in his latest work, “Nine, Nine, Nine.”
