Family Folks

Family Folks returns with The Sleeping Land, their fourth studio album and the definitive turning point in a career marked by experimentation and constant evolution. After a decade exploring roots rock and folk, the Vigo-based quintet takes a leap forward, setting fire to their acoustic past and dancing on the ashes with an electric, psychedelic, and dangerous sound. If
Naufrage (2022) was a rebirth from the wreckage of the past, The Sleeping Land is the definitive awakening of a band that masterfully wields the art of not looking back.
In this new release, these icons of the Galician scene present themselves as a machine of precision and unbridled creativity. The rhythm section is led by brothers Jorge Lorre and Rufus “El Guarro” (Los Wavy Gravies, The Bo Derek’s), who, with liters of garage rock running through their veins, inject the energy that sustains the weight of the entire album. Upon this foundation, Rubén Xuárez’s guitars are more urgent and sharper than ever, intertwining with keyboards played by a vibrant Xabier Vieitez (The Soul Jacket, Rubia, Foggy Mental Breakdown), who dictates the expansive and lysergic character of the recording.
