GASTEIZ BIG BAND: First release on vinyl

The training introduced the instruments of this type of sets (saxophones, trumpets, baritones, piano, drums, vocals …), but includes a guitar, a vibraphone, an electric bassist, a DJ and an MC too. The latter two are important participants to understand the particular conception of the musical Gasteiz Big Band, which includes a nothing shy introduction of rap, scratches and electronic elements. In addition, influenced by the unavoidables (Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus), also draws on a cinema repertory, and “related to jazz styles such as soul, funk, and Afro-Cuban music.” This, combined with his peculiar training, which makes an  original, innovative and big band, which is very welcome.
